Managing User Attributes in CoffeePals

User attributes in CoffeePals help you organize and segment your users based on key characteristics like start date, location, department, and more. These attributes are essential for building rule-based audiences and customizing your CoffeePals experience.

🧩 Types of User Attributes

CoffeePals supports a variety of attribute types to give you flexible control over user data:

- Date – e.g., Start date, hire date
- Single Select – e.g., Department, Office location
- Multi-Select – e.g., Skills, Interests
- Number – e.g., Years of experience, Office floor
- Yes/No (Boolean) – e.g., Is manager
- Text Input – e.g., Job title, Favorite coffee order

Each attribute type supports different use cases, and they can all be used to create dynamic audiences.

👤 Changing a Single User's Attributes

Navigate to the All Users Page
From the left-side menu, go to Users → All Users.

Open the User Profile
Click on the name of the user whose attributes you want to update.

Edit Attributes
In the profile view, select the attribute you want to change, modify its value, and click Save.

This is ideal for making quick updates to an individual user’s information.

📥 Bulk Updating User Attributes

Go to the All Users Page
From the left-side menu, click on Users → All Users.

Open the Bulk Import Tool
Click the three-dot menu in the top left of the user table and select “Import user attribute data.”

Download the Template
Download the current list of users as an Excel file (.xls format). This file will include existing users and their attributes.

Make Your Changes
Open the file and update user attribute values as needed. Be sure to follow formatting guidelines for each attribute type (e.g., date format, comma-separated values for multi-select fields).

Re-Upload the File Once your changes are made, upload the updated file back into the system to apply the changes in bulk. If there are any issues with the format, CoffeePals will provide an error CSV which outlines the issues in each row. You can modify this sheet and re-upload it.

This is the fastest way to manage large-scale updates across your organization.
