How to use your CoffeePals Inbox on the web

The CoffeePals Inbox brings your coffee chats into the dashboard, so you can read the cards CoffeePals sends you, respond to them, and message the people you have been matched with — all in your browser, without switching to Slack or Teams.

The Inbox is available to everyone on your team and there is nothing to turn on. It does not replace Slack or Teams — you can keep using whichever you prefer, and answer from either side.

Open and use your Inbox

  1. Sign in to the CoffeePals dashboard.
  2. Click Inbox in the left-hand menu. When someone has messaged you, a badge beside it shows how many conversations are unread.
  3. Pick a conversation from the list on the left. Switch between the All and Unread tabs to filter it, or use the search box to find someone by name.
  4. Read the conversation in the main panel. The cards CoffeePals sends you — your match introduction, the “Did you meet?” check-in, selfie contests and surveys — work here exactly as they do in Slack and Teams. Click the buttons on the card to answer.
  5. To send a message, type in the box at the bottom of the conversation and press Enter. The emoji button beside it adds an emoji.

Conversations appear in your Inbox on their own — CoffeePals opens one when it has something to send you or when you are matched with someone, so there is no separate step to start a chat.

Your message shows up in the conversation straight away. The person you sent it to gets a card in Slack or Teams telling them you sent them a message, with an Open in CoffeePals button that takes them back to the conversation — so nobody has to sit in the dashboard waiting for a reply.
