How the connection leaderboard and streaks work
The connection leaderboard celebrates the people who keep showing up for their coffee chats. It ranks participants by their current streak — the number of match cycles in a row they reported meeting their match — rather than by how many people they have met in total.
The leaderboard is part of a paid plan, and you need admin access to the program to change its settings.
How a streak is counted
- A participant's streak goes up by one each time a match cycle closes and they reported that they met their match.
- It resets to zero if they answer No, or if they never answer the “Did you meet?” check-in before the cycle ends.
- It also resets to zero if they pause matching or leave the program.
The leaderboard message in Slack and Teams
When the leaderboard message is on, CoffeePals posts a streak leaderboard to your chosen channel after each round, listing the top participants and how long their run is — for example “12 in a row”. If nobody has a streak going yet, it posts an invitation to be the first to start one instead of a list of names.
Turn the leaderboard message on
- Open your program and find the Messages and meeting scheduling card.
- Click Edit.
- Under Do you want to enable the streaks leaderboard message?, turn it on and pick the channel it should be posted to.
- Save your changes. The program summary then shows the leaderboard message as Enabled, along with the channel.
Switch the dashboard between streaks and connections
Your program's analytics page has a Connection leaderboard card. Use the Streaks and Connections buttons in its top-right corner to move between current streaks and most connections. It opens on Streaks.
Once participants start reporting that they met, their names and streaks fill the card. Until then it tells you that no one is on a streak yet.
